Disable an eSIM, never delete it

There is one action on an eSIM you cannot undo: deleting it. Once the profile is removed from your phone it is gone for good. It cannot be reinstalled from the original QR code, and nobody can re-issue the same profile — not your operator, not us. Whatever data was left on the plan disappears with it. The mistake is easy to make, because phones ask the question at the worst possible moment. You try to install a third eSIM, your phone tells you two lines are already active, and the most visible button on screen says Delete. The one you actually want is the switch that turns the line off. A disabled eSIM keeps its profile, its remaining data and its validity. It frees the slot immediately, and one tap brings it back. That is the right way to make room. Keep one thing in mind: validity keeps running while an eSIM is disabled. A 30-day plan expires 30 days after activation, whether the line is on or off. So if your trip runs longer than planned, top up the eSIM you already have — same profile, no new install, no extra slot.
