Help & FAQ
Installation, activation, troubleshooting, refunds: find answers to the most common questions here.
How do I install my eSIM?
After your purchase you receive a QR code by email and on the delivery page. Scan it from your phone's eSIM settings (iPhone: Settings › Mobile Data › Add eSIM; Android: Settings › Connections › SIM manager). Install over Wi-Fi, ideally before you leave.
When should I install and activate my eSIM?
Install it before you travel (over Wi-Fi). Activation — and therefore the validity countdown — starts when you connect to the network at your destination, or when you mark it as activated.
Will my phone number change?
No. The Datayop eSIM only carries data — it has no number that would replace yours. Your usual line stays in place for calls and texts: most phones are dual-SIM and keep both at the same time. Once you land, you simply pick the Datayop eSIM as your data line.
Will I lose WhatsApp and my conversations?
No, nothing changes. WhatsApp — like Telegram, Signal or iMessage — is tied to your phone number, not to the line carrying your data. Installing the Datayop eSIM does not log you out, does not ask for a verification code and does not touch your chats, your groups or your photos: everything stays on your phone. You keep using WhatsApp exactly as before, just over Datayop data. One precaution: do not remove your usual SIM card and do not reinstall WhatsApp while travelling — it is reinstalling, not the eSIM, that would ask for an SMS verification code.
I have no connection at my destination, what should I do?
Make sure the Datayop line is selected for mobile data and that data roaming is enabled for that line. Restart your phone if needed.
Can I get a refund?
Yes: full refund if the eSIM has never been activated and your device turns out to be incompatible. See our refund policy.
How do I contact support?
By email at support@datayop.com. We reply within 24 business hours.
How many eSIMs can I have on my phone?
Your phone can store several eSIM profiles, but it can only keep two lines active at the same time — your usual line plus one eSIM, or two eSIMs. That limit comes from iOS and Android, not from Datayop. To use another eSIM, simply turn one off in your SIM settings (iPhone: Settings › Mobile Data; Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs). There is no need to delete anything.
Can I delete an eSIM to free up space?
Please avoid it. Turning an eSIM off keeps its profile on your phone and you can switch it back on at any time. Deleting it is permanent: the profile cannot be reinstalled — not by you, and not by us — and any remaining data is lost. If you are running out of room, disable the eSIM you are not using. And to extend a trip, top up your current eSIM instead of buying a new one: it reuses the same profile, so it takes no extra slot and needs no reinstall.
